ISC Regional Meetings | Réunions régionales de la SCISaturday, January 16, 2010
Toronto Area Indexers' Meeting Metro Hall, 55 John St. at the corner of King, Room 313A, 2 to 4 p.m. As is the practice with Toronto meetings, presentations of specific topics alternate month by month with peer reviews, so this meeting will feature a peer review session. Attendees are invited to bring along copies of an index for review by their fellow indexers – in a friendly and collegial atmosphere, of course!
Vancouver Indexers' Meeting Vancouver Public Library, Central Branch, 350 West Georgia St., Board Breakout Room, 7th Floor, 1 to 4 p.m.
Geoff Wright, an ergonomics professional from the City of Vancouver's Human Resources Services, has agreed to come with an instructional but fun presentation on tips for preventing problems while chained to your computer. After this presentation, there will be a brief break, followed by a peer review of an index by Judith Lawrence. Mark your calendars now to attend this first meeting of the new year. It promises to be an interesting and informative afternoon! Please note as well that some members of the Vancouver group meet for lunch before the meeting at Gutenberg's Café, 345 Robson Street (Tel. (604) 669-4452) around 11:30 a.m. The café is located at the southeast corner of the library, at street level.
